Step back in time for an enchanting candle-lit night of holiday merriment at Rahway’s own 227-year-old tavern.
The Merchants and Drovers Tavern Museum’s annual Holiday Candlelight Evening will take place on Saturday, December 10 from 7-10 PM. The museum will be ornamented with holly, pine garland, and the decorations of yesteryear.
To add to the romance of the season, the entire building will aglow with candlelight. There will also be a crackling fire in the kitchen hearth.
The taproom will be open and beer, wine, and warm old-fashioned Swedish glogg will be available for guests 21 and over. We will also be serving light refreshments and Ann’s famous colonial hot punch in the historic kitchen.
Music will be provided by Linda Russell, historical balladeer, who will perform traditional holiday compositions interwoven with Yuletide history and folklore.
