We hope you’re able to tune in on Wednesday, December 14 at 7:30 p.m. to hear our latest Fireside Chat, this time with Lloyd Garrison, a nationally-acclaimed artist born and raised in Rahway.  Lloyd is a self-taught fine artist who started his career in 1966, when he opened his first gallery in town.  He is best known among local residents for his many nostalgic depictions of Rahway in the 50’s and 60’s, along with historic depictions of the Museum site, cemetery, churches, and events as they may have appeared in centuries past.

The interview, conducted by Rick Zdan, President of the Museum Board, will be presented virtually using Zoom.  Please register below so you can enjoy it from the comfort of your home.  Lloyd, a 13th generation Rahway native, will share with us how his gift for painting was first recognized, how he started his own successful business at the age of 22, his ties with the founding of the Museum, and many other interesting stories.

This very talented artist’s style is realistic, but his subject matter is unlimited. His favorite subjects include Revolutionary & Civil War paintings, landscapes, still-lifes, portraits, surrealism, aviation, nautical, westerns, wildlife, Christmas Carol paintings, and florals.  To see some samples of Lloyd’s art, visit his website at LloydGarrison.com.

This is the third program in the Merchants and Drovers Tavern Museum’s Fireside Chat Series.  It will be live and available free to the public. There will be a Q&A at the end.

We hope you’re able to join us live on Wednesday, December 14th at 7:30 p.m. to hear Lloyd Garrison share his stories about his art and Rahway history with us.  Remember to register first below.  Enjoy the show!
