On the evenings of February 21st and 22nd, the Merchants and Drovers Tavern Museum will once again transform into an old saloon and hotel, eerily lit by candlelight, and occupied by a few peculiar guests with some very disturbing stories to share….
The Merchants and Drovers Tavern Museum cordially invites you to join us for our 2025 “I Heart Horror” event! This year, your ticket will grant you admission to an evening of drinks, snacks, and live, in-character readings of tales of haunted taverns and haunted travels abroad by various authors, including H.G. Wells and Algernon Blackwood.
Admission is $30 for the general public and $25 for members and students under 21. Your ticket includes two spirituous drinks (for 21 and over), light refreshments, and dramatic, in-character readings of short stories by costumed actors in an atmospheric setting on different floors of the old hotel.
There will be three shows per night for two nights only, with room for just 13 lucky guests per show – and this event will likely sell out!

*As this event will take place on multiple levels and require access by stairs, accommodations for those unable to climb stairs may be available with 48 hour advance notice, and only during the first (7pm) show on Saturday night. If you are planning on attending with a group, please be sure to secure all of your tickets together as soon as you can. While it may be possible at some other museum events for us to “squeeze one more person in” so that they can attend with their group, the seating for this event has a strict cap that cannot be exceeded. Thank you for your understanding and please plan accordingly.
Please note – any cancellations or ticket transfers MUST be done via the Merchants and Drovers Museum Office. There will be an attendance list and only those on it will be admitted. Do not fall victim to scammers offering to sell you their “tickets,” there will be no tickets issued; your Paypal Confirmation is your admission.
