Our Ghosts of the Past preparing for the tour

Today marked the 24th annual Ghosts of the Past Cemetery Tour hosted by the Merchant and Drovers Tavern Museum. Today, 11 interpreters brought to life people from the World War I era, who are buried in the Historic Rahway Cemetery.

Thank you to all the interpreters, and to all the volunteers and all their hard work to bring this event together.

Now, meet the cast of Ghosts who breathed life back into these stories:

: Mrs. Charles Burt, mother whose son was killed in action, portrayed by Annette Satkowski

: Julius Treadwell, Purple Heart Recipient who fought with the Harlem Hellfighters, portrayed by Ron McCray

: Gladys Whitehead, 15 year old Red Cross Volunteer, portrayed by Victoria Tonstad

: Edwin Prink, Member of the Army Artillery Corps, portrayed by Eric Miles

: Walter Hughes, member of the Balloon Squadron, portrayed by Patrick Jotz

: Mrs. John Mulvey, wife of the first Rahway soldier killed in action, portrayed by Lisa Michaeloski

: PFC/Sgt Lester Hall, served with the Yankee Division at St. Mihiel and Meuse – Argonne, portrayed by Tony Hall

: Aneurin Williams, soldier gassed at the battle of St. Mihiel, portrayed by Kevin O’Brien

: Dr. Fred Albee, superintendent of the Army Hospital in Colonia, portrayed by Joe Keefe

: H.P. Chapin, soldier who fought in the Argonne Forest, portrayed by Chris Tonstad
